How to have a work, life and study balance in your life?

Having a balance between work and life is not easy. Try adding studying to it and you might forget your name. Working and studying is overwhelming, yet with the proper attitudes and behaviors the pressure will be decreased.

Here are thirteen things that you can do in order to have work, life and study balance:

  1. Set your priorities: one of the most important things that you can while you are juggling all these three is to set your priorities and work according to it.
  2. Learn to say no thank you: you cannot always say yes to all the requests, invites and calls for support. Learn to decide what to say yes to and what to say no to.
  3. Use an agenda: having an agenda where you write all your events, meetings and deadlines is critical for organizing and planning your days, weeks and months. You can also use your agenda to write tasks. Write your assignments, and schedule study time.
  4. Set yearly, monthly, and weekly goals:
  5. Wake up half an hour earlier: No matter how early of late you wake up, learn to wake up half an hour earlier and sacrifice half an hour for yourself. You can use this time to read, meditate, pray, watch TV, or anything else that is just for you and only you!

Study week by week: starting the first day you enter class, make sure to study week by week and don’t postpone your studying, this way, you stay on top of your academic requirements and in case something comes up in the future, you can always spare a week of two of no studying.balance by incisler
  7. Create a study log: As you are studying, create and use a study log where you can log all your studies, assignments and extra reading. As you know, you should study at home the same amount of time that you study at university
  8. Eat well: remember that you are what you eat, so eat a variety of foods (fruits, vegetables, meats, carbohydrates,…) drink fresh juice, limit sugars

  10. Rethink who you spend time with: they say that you are the average of the five people that you spend the most time with. Who are you spending time with the most? Are these people that you look up to? Are these people who help and support you? Are they understanding? If most of the answers of these questions are no, then you should consider reducing the time spent with these people and spend more time with other people.
  11. Delegate: Rethink your daily tasks and consider what can be delegated. There are various things that we spend time on who other people at a low cost can do.
  12. Enjoy the weekend: there is a reason to why most people take a day off during the weekend. Even God rested on the seventh day. Remember to take at least one day off from all your weekly stress and enjoy yourself.
  13. There is no perfect balance: remember that each person has a different way of living, lifestyle, studying techniques and work requirements. Work on balancing your life in a way that best fits you making sure not to under deliver in any aspect of it.
