Were you ever in a situation that made you feel super inspired? A moment that made you feel that you can conquer the world? I know that I have been in such moments and I also know that I want these moments to last.
As I have been thinking about inspiration for the past couple of days, I decided to write some of the simple steps that keep on inspiring me.
Here are my 9 simple steps that will help inspire you:
1.Find your personal mission statement. Have you ever thought about your purpose in this life? What do you want to do? Why are you here on earth? What legacy will you keep behind you? Take some time to reflect on these ideas and find your personal mission statement. Knowing what your purpose here in this life is will inspire you and will push you to live a happy life and do your best every day
2.Surround yourself with inspirational people. How exciting would it be when you are always surrounded by people who inspire you by their motivation, ideas, and company? Make sure to surround yourself with these types of people since they can be your energy boosters. Being around positive people is contagious, imagine how will it feel when you are surrounded by inspirational people!
3.Remember that you are the average of the five people you spend time with. Have you ever heard of this saying? Well, I know that I have and I keep on thinking of the people that I spend most of my time with and I keep assessing whether or not I want to be their average! Think about that too, who are you spending most of your time with? Do you want to be like them? If not, then try to spend more time with other people.
4.Read inspirational books. This goes without saying, yet when you read an inspirational book, you get energized and gather the energy that will help you change the world. So look around in your local bookstore or search online and find the most inspirational book for you. One of my favorite inspirational books is Robin Sharma’s Who Will Cry When You Die. It’s a very easy to read book that has some advice that will help you live a happy life.
5.Read inspirational quotes. For those of you who know me, know that I keep on sharing inspirational quotes on social media. I get inspired when I read a quote, so I keep on reading quotes and keep on sharing them. I once did an inspirational exercise where at the end of every day, I would search for a quote that would summarize how my day went or what I learned during that day. This was a very inspirational activity that helped me search for a lesson from every day.
5.Keep a diary. I am keen on reflections, yet for some reason, I have never kept a diary. Lately, I have been using some journaling apps where I write every evening for five minutes about my day. I have found that when I write about my days to myself, I was able to let go of the negative parts of my day and emphasizes the positives, I was also able to write what I learned in hope that history would not repeat itself 🙂 whether you decide to write on a physical or virtual diary, it doesn’t matter as long as you reflect every day.
6.Create an inspiration board. I am an avid believer that when you want something to happen, you need to visualize it. So why don’t you create an inspirational board where you can have a collage of your dreams, quotes, pieces of magazines, napkins from a special place, someone’s business card etc.. You can even create some visuals for your own dreams, for example, you can create a business card with your dream job on it and you can put an image of your dream book that you would like to once publish. Make sure that your inspirational board is somewhere that you can see every day and keep on adding to it.
7.Listen to inspirational music. I see music as a remedy to a lot of problems in life. Music inspires me, comforts me, entertains me, enlighten me, relaxes me, provoke me, and definitely move me. whenever I feel down, I turn on some music and whenever I need some inspiration, my quick fix is music. Turn on that radio – or actually, I would recommend YouTube and search for inspirational music.
8.Travel. Traveling around the world or inside your country is very inspirational since you will get a chance to meet new people, new cultures, new food, new clothes, new way of living and much much more. When you travel, you will get out of your comfort zone and you will experience a new you. Then after coming back, you will always be a different person, a new you. Let traveling be your next best friend and keep on meeting new people.
Do you do something else to get inspired? Do you have any other steps that you do?
